Avalon Launches 2015 Preview Brochure
Avalon Waterways has launched its 2015 preview brochure with the announcement of two new Suite Ships, savings of up to £1,400 per couple and a choice of new themed cruises.
We know our readers like to get ahead of the crowd, so we are going to present all the Avalon 2015 details as they are outlined in their press release today. Here are the headline features:
New Suite Ships Double Capacity in France For 2015
Due for delivery in spring 2015, the two new Suite Ships, Avalon Tapestry II and Avalon Tranquility II will bring the total in the fleet to 10 as well as introducing ‘Suite Ship’ river-cruising to France for the first time.
The new ‘Suite Ships’ will offer the same state-of-the-art sleek design, spacious suites and focus on service as their sister ships in the fleet. All the vessels will offer two full decks of Panorama suites with wall-to-wall panoramic windows that open to create unique ‘open air balconies’.
Avalon Tapestry II as well as Avalon Poetry II (due to launch next month, with Tapestry II's Royal Suite pictured, above) will sail a range of cruises on the Rhone, Saone and Seine doubling Avalon's capacity on the French rivers. Tapestry II will sail the popular ‘Paris to Normandy’s Landing Beaches’ itinerary on a year-round basis whilst Poetry II will feature the 11-day ‘Burgundy and Provence’ from the Cote d’Azur to Chalon-sur-Saone from March to September. A combination of both river cruises is available on the 16-day ‘Grand France’ cruise.
Up to £1,400 Off Per Couple For Early Bookers
Avalon is offering its lowest prices for 2015 with a series of early booking offers, including savings of up to £1,400 per couple and a half-price deposit of just £150 per person. The savings include £300pp on all 2015 cruises, an additional £300pp on selected dates and £100pp on stateroom upgrades. All offers are available on bookings made before April 23 this year.
Lead-in prices include the 8-day ‘A Taste of the Danube’ (from £1,105pp), the 8-day Tulip Time (from £1,279pp), the 8-day ‘Romantic Rhine’ (from £1,405pp), 11-day ‘Legendary Danube’ (from £1669pp) and 11-day ‘Burgundy & Provence’ (from £1945pp).
New Cruise Itinerary and Themed Cruises
Avalon is intriducing a brand new cruise in 2015, the 16-day ‘Rhine and Rhone Revealed’ (from £3,435pp), sailing the Rhine from Amsterdam to Basel before transferring to the Saone to cruise south to join the Rhone and sail to Arles.
With demand for themed holidays on the increase, Avalon has also expanded next year's choice of its special interest departures that combine an interest or hobby with discovering new exciting destinations along Europe’s rivers. The new themed departures for 2015 include a special Author’s Cruise (August 9) priced from £2,255pp and an Opera Cruise (July 15) priced from £2,235pp, both on the 9-day ‘Blue Danube Discovery’.
Avalon’s themed cruises feature expert onboard presentations and excursions to enhance personal knowledge and give guests the opportunity to meet people with similar interests. The new departures are in addition to the existing choice of jazz and classical music, wine appreciation, beer tasting, arts & impressionist, golf, culinary, wellness, Christmas markets and Jewish heritage themes. Prices lead in from £1,379pp on the Culinary cruise based on the ‘Paris to Normandy’s Landing Beaches’ (March 31) and Beer Tasting cruise based on ‘Tulip Time’ (April 10) from £1,379pp.
