River cruising has never been so popular and it’s easy to see why. There’s nothing more relaxing than sunbathing on the Sun deck with your favourite tipple whilst some of Europe’s most stunning scenery unfolds right in front of you.
This message is not ours (although it might just as well be!) but from Seafarer, the luxury small-ship specialist, who are highlighting two ecxlusive Rhine cruises, as they branch out into European river-cruising in 2014.
They are certainly not the first tour operator to realise the potential, and they won't be the last, but they definitely have something worthwhile to offer, with two fabulous itineraries discovering the natural beauty of the Rhine and her charming towns and villages.
The ship they are using is the MS Serenade I, (below), a comfortable and stylish independent river-cruiser, with some of the largest cabin accommodation for any river cruise ship. The ship accommodates a maximum of 136 passengers and has 34 crew, with a casual, friendly atmosphere and attentive service.
The route is Amsterdam-Basel (and vice-versa) from May to October, and Seafarer have also carefully planned the optional excursions to maximise their guests' time ashore, or the crew are always on hand to offer useful and helpful advice.
They are also offering great value, with prices from from £1,149 for the 8-day cruise, including all meals and flights from the UK. Or, if guests prefer not to fly, Seafarer also offer rail travel options to join the cruise.
